Young Leadership Council Completes Cigars For Our Troops
Liberty USO's Young Leadership Council (YLC) is proud to announce the completion of its 2011 Cigars For Our Troops Collection Program.
After months of hard work with local cigar shops in Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, roughly 900 cigars and other items were shipped on Friday to 13 units/wings deployed overseas.
The YLC collected 600 cigars by working with area shops in the months of December and January. Additionally, the program received a $1,300 donation from the Quaker City English Dart League which enabled the purchasing of another 300 cigars from Holts in Philadelphia. Finally, the YLC received a generous donation from Dunkin Donuts in the form of 120 pounds of fresh coffee. All of the items were packaged and shipped on Friday at the Pennsylvania National Guard Armory on Southampton Road in Philadelphia by members of the YLC.
Thank you to all of the participating cigar shops, Quaker City English Dart League, Holts, and Dunkin' Donuts for all of your support.
